Filmen är inspelad i och runt Hjerteskeppet i Trollskogen. Udden har betraktats som en helig plats där himmel möter hav och land under förhistorisk tid och här finns lämningar efter gravsättningar. Samtidigt överröstas sänkan av en intensitet i naturupplevelsen här och nu. En plats som öppnar upp för att ta in både dåtid, nutid och framtid - tiden innan mig och den som kommer efter.

The short film is shot in and around the Hjerteskeppet in Trollskogen. The headland has been regarded as a sacred place where sky meets sea and land in prehistoric times and remains of burials are found here. At the same time, the depression is drowned out by an intensity in the nature experience here and now. A place that opens up to take in both past, present and future - the time before me and the one that comes after.

Past and Presence är ett samarbete mellan konstnärerna Ebba Bohlin och Anna Ridderstad som undersöker landskap, historia och ekologi. Under 2022 och 2023 befann sig Past and Presence på norra Öland, med nedslag i bland annat en övergiven järnåldersby och en rituell plats där himmel och hav möts bakom en avskiljande mur.
Past and Presence is a collaboration between artists Ebba Bohlin and Anna Ridderstad, which investigates landscape, history and ecology. In 2022 and 2023, Past and Presence took place in northern Öland, focusing on an abandoned Iron Age village and a ritual site where sky and sea meet behind a separating wall.
